Enjoy a fun-filled week on a real working ranch! Activities include horsemanship, donkey cart rides, alpaca-felting, scavenger hunts and more! Learn the care and feeding of pigs, donkeys, goats, alpacas and horses. Shadow a real veterinarian and see his mobile vet clinic. Learn about responsible pet ownership and build your leadership skills. Daily themes include Team Work and The Spirit of Volunteerism. On the final day, we’ll celebrate with a lunch party and a day of games.

Registration is now open. Three weeks to choose from. Cost $200 per week. Sponsorships may be available for low-income families. Contact us for details.

The Gress Mountain Ranch is a sanctuary where abused and neglected animals are given life-long care to recover and thrive. In turn, the animals become therapy animals and have a big job to help people learn to improve their self-worth, communication skills, and learn respect for all livings beings.

Volunteers Needed for Ranch Camp 2016

volunteersneededWe need volunteers 18 and older to assist as Camp Counselors during our annual Ranch Camp. Enhance your leadership skills while mentoring children in grades 3 through 10 on the basic care, feeding, and health of horses, donkeys, alpacas, goats, and pigs. Training provided.

Sign up for one, two, or all three weeks! It is preferable that you volunteer for the entire week; however, if you can only do a partial week, we will try to accommodate your request.

Items needed for the animals:

  • Canned corn, peas, fruit
  • Millet for the exotic birds
  • Pine shavings, timothy hay in a bag
  • Juices (OJ, apple, cranberry)
  • Apple sauce,
  • Purina dry cat food
  • Total Cereal
  • Chinchilla “dust” and chew items

Items needed for the children:

  • Vanilla & chocolate pudding
  • Paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, 4 oz. hand soaps
  • Snacks, juice boxes Gatorade
  • Journals
  • Clean stuffed animals for the children to be given as prizes
